Ocean Springs holds Food Crawl event in downtown

The City of Ocean Springs hosted their first Food Crawl tonight.

In Ocean Springs, the month of May has been dubbed ‘Food Month,’ as a way to promote the more than 100 restaurants and bars around town.

The sold-out event features over 20 local restaurants in the downtown area.

Tonight, participating restaurants and bars set up a booth and offered a sample to participating guests. Each guest had a wristband and a punch card that must be presented at each booth. Punch cards were turned into a designated downtown information booth by 9 p.m. to be entered to win gift cards and goodies from area restaurants. Glory Bound Gyro Co. General Manager Kristen Musgrove said, “So yesterday we got started on our cheese rolls. That’s what we’re going to be doing tonight as our featured food item. It’s one of our biggest sellers since we started ten years ago. So, why not go with the best seller. We’re also doing our pineapple fusion which is a drink we make in house. So, we got that going last night too. We’ve got the whole set up and we’re ready to roll.”

The tickets sold out over a month ago with over 200 people participating in the food crawl.
