Ocean Springs High School Theatre Department takes home multiple honors at MTA 2026
Oxford, Miss. (WXXV)- The Ocean Springs Theatre High School Department had a busy time in Oxford over the weekend.
“The Crane Wife” took home the honors of Best MTA Production, Best Director and the Peer Choice Award.
Alyssa Flinchum and Reece Rushing also took home All-Star Cast Honors. Rushing took home the MTA College Scholarship.
“The Crane Wife” also took home outstanding achievement in collaborative puppetry, lighting design and live music.
Meanwhile, the Theatre for Youth performance of “The Grasshopper Who Touched The Moon” also took home honors.
The crew received the Best Production Award while Alyssa Flinchum and Finn Carpenter received the All-Star Cast Award.
Kate Mangiaracina received the Outstanding Performance in a Lead Role honor.
For individual events, the department received first place for splash scene and for their musical group.
Their next stop is the Southeastern Theatre Conference in March.
