Ocean Springs high school alum Garrett Crochet climbing the ranks as top MLB pitcher

Current Chicago White Sox ace, and former Ocean Springs high school star, Garrett Crochet has been electric through his first 15 starts this season.

Although his record of 6-5 may not show for it, Crochet currently sits 2nd among all Major League pitchers with 116 strikeouts, and sits just nine back of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow for 1st, despite having pitched over ten innings less so far this season.

In his latest outing over the weekend against the Seattle Mariners, Crochet picked up a career-high 13 strikeouts in seven innings of work. Crochet has aligned himself in good position to potentially make his first all-star game, with pitchers all-star selections being announced on July 7th.
