Ocean Springs football player back at school after collapsing at game

Some good news this afternoon as an Ocean Springs player who collapsed at Friday’s game at Harrison Central is back at school today.

Eric Johnson, a Greyhound sophomore, collapsed on the field as time expired in the game. He was taken to Gulfport Memorial, where he spent the night.

He was alert and talking with family and coaches, according to social media reports.

Ocean Springs Spokesman Trey Brennan said Eric was released on Saturday.
