Ocean Springs firefighter completes rope rescue awareness and operations course

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- The Ocean Springs Fire Department shared one of their own completed the rope rescue operations and awareness course.

Firefighter Frank spent last week at the State Fire Academy.

The training helps strengthen the ability to serve when it matters most.

Training includes advanced high angle rope rescue techniques and rappelling to rigging complex pulley systems.

The fire department says the dedication to learning and improving helps make firefighters stronger and the community safer.
