Ocean Springs Fire Department training on new drone

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- Training has gone airborne for the Ocean Springs Fire Department.

Firefighters spent part of the day learning how to use a new drone that could help keep both crews and the public safe during emergencies.

Ocean Springs Fire Department spent time training with a new drone. Fire officials say the drone provides fast eyes in areas that are dangerous and hard to reach.

The technology can be used during wildland fires, search operations, hazardous materials incidents, and disaster response.

It can also be deployed in support of law enforcement partners, offering real-time aerial views that help improve situational awareness during active incidents.
