Ocean Springs development meeting

Could a Home Depot be coming to Ocean Springs? It was talked about today. Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson and the board of aldermen called a special meeting.
The meeting was called to speak with two representatives for the Mississippi Development Authority. The topic of the gathering was economic development.
The mayor and aldermen brainstormed ideas to begin development on parts of town that may not be as developed as downtown. “We are very interested in developing the east side of town, bringing in some hotels and different restaurants. Any businesses that want to come in and bring jobs to residents we are interested in welcoming them with open arms,” said Mayor Dobson.
Some of the ideas included adding a Home Depot and a new hotel to the east part of Ocean Springs.
