Ocean Springs businesses receive façade grant improvement program

There may be some big changes coming to Downtown Ocean Springs thanks to the Façade Grant Improvement Program.

They received a $20,000 grant through a partnership with the Ocean Springs Chamber of Main Street and Mississippi Power Foundation.

This money will be divided up between existing commercial businesses who apply.  The money is meant to revitalize the area from Holcomb Boulevard to Front Beach and the downtown district area.

Businesses can use the money to make upgrades to their buildings.

The goal is to help fund these business changes so they can keep growing. Ocean Springs Chamber Executive Director Cynthia Sutton said, “It’s kind of a domino effect, that when you start with the outside of your facade, then it just keeps going inside. It brings more people into town, more people into your business, and, hopefully, it will gain you a little bit more costumers and a little bit more notice in our community.”

The last day to apply is April 28th by 5 p.m.
