Ocean Springs Bus Driver In Court
Jury selection in the trial of a former Ocean Springs school bus driver begins today.
Sergio Sandoval is facing four counts of touching a child for lustful purposes and one count of sexual battery.
Sandoval is accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl on multiple occasions in 2014 while other children were on the school bus.
The school district fired Sandoval Immediately after Superintendent Dr. Bonita Coleman-Potter said she reviewed camera footage from his bus that showed “A blatant infraction of school board policy.”
He was arrested a day later.
According to a police report, Sandoval allegedly told the girl not to tell anyone what was going on because it was “their secret.”
Again jury selection begins today and a trial is likely to begin tomorrow in Jackson County.
