Ocean Springs alum Garrett Crochet made Opening Day start for the Boston Red Sox

Time to tip the cap to a former Ocean Springs Greyhound! Left-handed pitcher Garrett Crochett got the nod on Opening Day for the Boston Red Sox’s test against the Texas Rangers. 

He threw 88 pitches, 61 of them strikes, through 5 innings. He struck out four batters, allowing five hits and two runs, but that was enough to hold the Rangers to a loss! With Crochet’s help, the Boston Red Sox won game one of the 2025 season 5-2.
