Ocean Springs alum and Mississippi State golfer Avery Weed makes NCAA history not once but twice

One of our very own is thriving on the greens and she isn’t slowing down anytime soon!

Ocean Springs alum and current Mississippi State golfer, Avery Weed, has tied the NCAA record versus par at -11 following round one of the Ally on Monday. She also tied the second lowest score in NCAA history after shooting  61.

She made history not once, but twice on the fairway as just a Sophomore and we could not be more proud of her! Congratulations Avery, and we wish you luck continuing this week’s tournament!
