Ocean Springs Accepts Psycamore Deal
A lawsuit against the city of Ocean Springs may be coming to a close.
In 2011, the city of Ocean Springs Board of Aldermen was sued after improperly denying the Psycamore Mental Health Clinic a permit to open in the city. According to Mayor Connie Moran, in a special meeting yesterday, the board of aldermen agreed to accept a settlement offer from Roger Applewhite, owner of the building where the clinic was set to open. If approved by a federal court judge, Applewhite will withdraw the $405,000 lawsuit against the city. The city will have paid roughly $650,000 in settlements and legal fees.
