O.T Program at MGCCC receives 100 percent pass rate on national exam
The occupational therapy assistant program at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Perkinston Campus received a perfect pass rate for the National Certification Examination administered by the National Board for Certification in occupational therapy.
After successfully completing this exam, the 15 students are now eligible to be certified occupational therapy assistants.
Graduates of the program can work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist in providing treatment development, restoration, prevention, and maintenance programs. MGCCC School of Nursing and Health Professionals Associate Vice President Dr. Jones Hendrix said, “We’re super proud of their accomplishments that they’ve made. Many of our students are first generational college students, which makes it even more prestigious knowing that they are setting the mark for their families and their friends and others to know that they can accomplish something here at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.”
The program has only been in operation at MGCCC for about three years.
