North Woolmarket student council collect toys for children

The North Woolmarket Middle School student council held its third annual toy drive.

The student council collected 200 toys to donate to Toys for Tots.

Students, parents, and local community members helped with the toy drive that will provide toys for local children this Christmas.

At North Woolmarket, the faculty encourages student council members to do activities that will serve others.

Two students tell us what they learned from this experience.

“I think it’s made me realize that not everybody has all the things that we have,” said seventh-grader Micah Hickman. “Giving is better than receiving, so we need to help out as much as we can.”

Eighth-grade student council president Sophia Larkin said, “It’s good to know that some kids are going to be able to have the same Christmas… that not everyone has. And it’s good to know that our community can come in and help whenever kids need it.”

In February, the student council will accept supplies for local animal shelters.
