North Woolmarket Elementary and Middle School launching student meteorologist program

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- North Woolmarket Elementary and Middle School is launching its new student meteorologist program.

From forecasting the weather to forecasting their future, these young meteorologists are on the right track, guided by their amazing teacher.

The new student meteorologist program at North Woolmarket Elementary and Middle School is designed to immerse students in the science of forecasting while building confidence in front of the camera.

The hands-on experience will potentially ignite a passion for meteorology and empower these students to see what’s possible for their future.

WXXV’s very own Meteorologist Sam Lucey visited the school to show students how forecasts are prepared, what tools are used, and what it takes to build a career in weather.

Students are trading in recess for their future as they learn what it takes to create the perfect forecast.
