North Bay Civitan Club hosting fifth annual Beads for Special Needs

One Gulf Coast nonprofit organization is continuing its tradition of giving back through a bead drive in the aftermath of Mardi Gras.

The North Bay Civitan Club of D’Iberville and St. Martin is currently collecting beads for its fifth annual Beads for Special Needs event.

Beads can be dropped off through Friday, February 20 at six locations:

  • A Latte Friends coffeehouse
  • The Jerry Lawrence Memorial Library on Automall Parkway in D’Iberville
  • The St. Martin Public Library on LeMoyne Boulevard
  • The GCRL Gunter Library off East Beach Drive and Halstead Road in Ocean Springs
  • The Coastal Mississippi Mardi Gras Museum on Howard Avenue in downtown Biloxi
  • D’Iberville High School on Lamey Bridge Road in Harrison County.

Beads will then be distributed on Saturday and donations will go to help South Mississippi students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
