Nonprofit gets kids excited to go back to school with backpack giveaway

To excel in school, you need the right tools and supplies. The nonprofit organization ‘A Call to Action’ teamed up with Big Play Entertainment Center this weekend.

They gave away 200 bookbags, getting kids excited about going back to school.

Not only did they receive a new bookbag, but each bag was filled with different supplies, depending on the child’s age.

‘A Call to Action Owner’ Sugar Stallings says she wants to be a part of something that helps enrich future generations and gets kids excited to learn. What better way to do that than with something new? “What am I going to do? Well, I say do good in school. That’s your only reward and payment for me and they understand that. So, when you give them a reward, they get the concept and that’s what we need to do. In the classroom when the teachers get them, they also have that same excitement and energy when they go back to school.”

The bags were first come, first serve and Stallings plans on doing this giveaway again the same time next year.
