Noise Alert: National Guard Base Gulfport CRTC hosting training exercise

Gulfport, Miss. – The Air National Guard is hosting a training exercise. Residents expect to hear loud noise due to air and ground combat training exercise being conducted on and around the Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center from 2-9 March 2025.

Approximately 400 service members from active, guard and reserve components of the U.S. military are participating in this combat training exercise.

There will be an increase in aircraft, low flying helicopters, simulated explosions, gunfire and noise in the areas surrounding the training locations. CRTC provides an integrated, year-round, realistic, joint service training environment for units to enhance their capabilities and combat readiness.

In the upcoming weeks, the CRTC will be hosting several units that will be conducting simulated air combat training.

Noise levels can vary depending on the time of day, atmospheric conditions, and the number and type of aircraft involved.
