NOAA revises hurricane predictions
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration updating what to expect for the next six weeks in the hurricane season.
NOAA predicting this year there will be an ‘above-normal level of activity’ along the Atlantic Coast. While NOAA’s June outlook called for a 30 percent chance of above normal activity. As of August, the probability doubled to 60 percent.
The main climate factors influencing hurricane activity being the ongoing El Nino climate pattern and the record warm Atlantic sea surface temperatures.
