NOAA gives hurricane season update

Forecasters say the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season shows no signs of slowing.
That’s the word from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration after their season update.
According to NOAA’s climate prediction center, conditions remain conducive for an above average hurricane season.
The latest outlook reflects that the number of expected named storms is 15 to 21, including seven to 10 hurricanes of which as many as five could become major hurricanes with winds 111 miles per hour or greater.
This updated outlook includes the five named storms that have formed so far with Hurricane Elsa becoming the earliest fifth named storm on record.
NOAA’s update covers the entire six-month hurricane season which ends November 30th.
