NOAA announces 2025 hurricane predictions

Forecasters are predicting an above average Atlantic hurricane season.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced their prediction for the season on Thursday.

NOAA’s National Weather Service forecasters are expecting between 13 and 19 total named storms.

This summer will mark the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

A storm that NOAA experts say is still teaching them lessons about storm preparedness and response.

One way to prepare now is by tuning into WXXV’s Storm Ready Special which will air on WXXV NBC Wednesday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, May 29th at the same time on WXXV FOX, and once again on the Gulf Coast CW on Friday, May 30 at noon.
