Tractor-trailer vs car collision at Highway 53 causes injuries

There were injuries reported Tuesday morning when a tractor-trailer and a Chevy Malibu collided on Highway 49 at Highway 53 this morning.

The incident happened about 7:30 a.m.

Gulfport Police said there were injuries but the extent of the injuries were not known.

Police said the 18-wheeler pushed the Malibu into the ditch.

Police and fire responded. The tractor-trailer showed damage on its right front bumper.

The Malibu had severe damage to its back end and was turned north on the southbound side of the highway, lodged in a drainage ditch.
