No Ban, No Wall Rally

Hundreds of people along the Coast plan to speak out against President Trump’s actions to build a wall and ban travel.
University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Park campus will host a rally tomorrow evening as a way for residents to stand in solidarity and show support for immigrants and refugees. Representatives from Latino and Muslim communities will make brief statements highlighting immigrants’ rights.
The rally is also a display of opposition for Mississippi Senate Bill 2710, a bill that would authorize law enforcement to assist federal agencies by legally detaining illegal aliens. Melinda Medina with the Mississippi Immigrants Rights Alliance said, “We know that lots of communities are always being attacked and if we continue to fight separately we won’t ever get anywhere fighting separate battles. We need to all come together and fight them together. One enemy. One army.”
The No Ban, No Wall Rally will take place tomorrow February 7th from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on USM’s Gulf Park campus.
