No. 10 Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs to Play Tulane at Coliseum

Ask any coach in any sport if they would give up a home game, most every one of them would say ‘yeah, right.’ Not Vic Schaefer, who is making that sacrifice for his Mississippi State women’s basketball team to play in Biloxi.
This afternoon, MSU took the court at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in preparation for tomorrow night’s game against Tulane.
Coming in, the 10th ranked Lady Bulldogs are off to a 2-0 start with blowout wins over Villanova and Maine by a combined 90 points.
With the program already at an all-time high, coming off its second Sweet 16 appearance in school history last season, now is the perfect time to rally more fan support across the entire state.
Mississippi State guard Victoria Vivians said, “Not only are we a brand for Starkville, we’re a brand for the whole state of Mississippi. Hopefully we get to play everywhere in Mississippi besides Starkville and Biloxi. Hopefully we go to Jackson or Tupelo and just expand it around Mississippi because we are our state.”
Mississippi State Head Women’s Basketball Coach Vic Schaefer said, “The opportunity to bring a top 10 team to South Mississippi, play in front of some folks that probably haven’t seen us play. Hopefully we’re going to have a great high school crowd tomorrow night. We’ll have a lot of kids from junior highs and high schools to expose them to us, to Tulane University, a great university in and of itself. I just think it’s great for this part of the state and this part of the country.”
The Lady Bulldogs and the Green Wave tip things off at 7 p.m. tomorrow. Tickets are on sale for $5, $10 for reserved seating and free for kids, high school or younger.
