Ninety-nine-year-old Los Angeles woman celebrates birthday on balcony

Social distancing didn’t stop a 99th birthday celebration.

Dorothy Elvin lives in Los Angeles’ Brentwood neighborhood. She’s an L.A. native. Her daughter joined her on the balcony.

A group of well-wishers on the sidewalk cheered and sang “happy birthday.” The local fire station also sent an engine to be a part of the celebration.
