WXXV News given Media Organization of the Year Award

Tonight, the Kiwanis Club of Gautier and Ocean Springs held their annual community awards event.

We are thrilled to be selected for the Media Organization of the Year award. WXXV News Director Joe Sullivan accepted the award.

The Kiwanis Club uses these awards to recognize the hardworking businesses devoted to serving and making their community better, like the club itself.

For us at News 25, we appreciate the acknowledgement. We’ve been on the air for nine years, covering countless stories in Ocean Springs and Gautier and assisting the Jackson County Animal Shelter with our Pet of the Week segment, where 100 percent of the pets brought to our studio are adopted.

Kiwanis Gautier/Ocean Springs President Dave Meisburger said, “Y’all have just been doing an absolutely great job in the community and the Coast as well as supporting our Kiwanis Club. So, out of all the media, different media outlets out there, y’all have been the best for us and as far as we can see, the community.”

Kiwanis also recognized businesses excelling in food, financial, and health services as well as non-profits, government officials, first responders, teachers, and students.
