Newly Elected Officials Swear-in

About 30 newly elected officials in Jackson County raised their right hands this morning and took their oath of office at the official swearing-in ceremony at the courthouse in Pascagoula.
Officials included in this ceremony ranged from supervisors, justice court judges, and constables. District Court Judge Louis Guirola Jr. led this ceremony and he tells News 25 he sees enthusiasm and a lot of potential in the newly elected officials. “Public officials are put here at the behest of the people and the people provide to these officials a part of their power so the people actually are looking forward to them exercising that power responsibly and with a great deal of fidelity toward this oath that means so much.”
Those who took the oath this morning will officially take office in January of 2016.
