The New Year’s Eve party just for kids

Who says New Year’s Eve is a holiday just for adults?
A growing celebration at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport is making sure kids have fun on New Year’s Eve too. While many younger children may fall asleep before the ball drops, the Countdown to New Years is your kids chance to see it come down.
Lynn Meadows staff says kids will be making noise with noise makers, clocks, playing bingo and sipping bubbly juice, all the way up until the ball drops.
The annual celebration draws in hundreds of kids every year. Lynn Meadows Executive Director Cindy DeFrances said, “New Year’s Eve is usually a special time for parents to go out at night and have a good time and so this is a special time for children to come out and have a really good time. We want everyone to come out and have a great time and enjoy the ball dropping and experience that fun, crazy, loud entertainment.”
The Countdown to New Year’s Party will start at noon and will go until the ball drops at 2 p.m. The celebration is $6 for adults. Kids and members get in for free.
