New Year baby born on the Coast

The Garden Park Medical Center kicked off their 2019 by helping deliver a baby boy for the New Year.

Baby Bryce weighed in at 7 pounds 2 ounces.  Bryce’s mother, Melissa Heskey, was beyond excited to welcome Baby Bryce into the world just 51 minutes into the New Year.

Bryce’s father, Burnell Gould, tells News 25 he was in Hattiesburg when he received the call that the baby was on his way. He rushed over to Garden Park Medical Center to hold his baby boy.

Loved ones were excited to welcome Bryce into the family and had a blast trying to figure out which side of the family gave him the best features. “Her grandmother was really excited that he was first baby born on New Year’s and everything. Most of my family kept talking about how he looks. They would say he looks just like you, some of them were debating on who he looks more like,” said Gould.

When asked about the quick turnaround between Christmas and Bryce’s birthday, Gould tells News 25 his baby boy will have the best of both days.
