New Superintendent Appointed

There’s a new superintendent in Long Beach and his name is Dr. Jay Smith. Smith will start July first as he replaces Carrolyn Hamilton who is retiring after serving 13 years as Long Beach Superintendent. Smith comes to the coast from north pike school district where he served as assistant superintendent for four years. A graduate of Southern Miss, he brings with him 24 years total of classroom and administrative experience.
