New Parade Added to Ocean Springs Mardi Gras
The Krewe Unique parade will begin immediately after the regular Elks parade, which starts at 1 p.m. on January 31st. The parade route will still remain the same, and since police and road blocks will already be in place, the additional cost to the city will be minimal. Any Mardi Gras fan knows more parade is always better than less parade, and the city is looking forward to the added festivities.
John Gill, Ward 1 Alderman, says, “This is a unique situation and it’s gonna’ benefit the merchants downtown and on Government Street tremendously. So we encourage all the revelers to come on down, dress up, enjoy yourselves. I’m ready! I’m a little bit early, but I’m ready, and it’s gonna’ be a great Mardi Gras for the City of Ocean Springs.”
