New Orleans Saints maintain singular approach
After piling on their 10th consecutive win on Thursday, it appears that the only team capable of stopping the New Orleans Saints is the Saints and their way of preventing that is being cliché.
One game at a time, albeit the epitome of coach speak, has gotten the Black and Gold to this point. The Saints were dealt the league’s second-hardest schedule at the beginning of the season and they’ve been handling every adversary with grace and domination.
Coming off of Thursday’s 31-17 Thanksgiving victory over the Falcons, Head Coach Sean Payton continues to sidestep any notion of this year’s team being a Super Bowl lock. “Every week I hear someone say well, they’re getting ready to hit the tough part of their schedule. And shoot, all of these games are tough. Starting with trips to Baltimore, trips to Minnesota, the Rams at home. I mean the focus for us is the next game. We’re way, way, way shorter-focused right now rather than extended like that and I think that’s served us well.”
The Saints kick-off their second straight Thursday night game at Dallas at 7:20 p.m. on FOX.
