New Orleans Saints head to Atlanta for week one

New Orleans Saints regular season opener just five days away with the Black and Gold set to kick things off from Atlanta at 12 noon Sunday as five-and-a-half point favorites.

This will be Dennis Allen’s first game as head coach since Sean Payton’s retirement, looking to build off last year’s 9-8 finish in the NFC South, ahead of the Falcons at 7-10.

Last year’s week 9 home loss to the Falcons kick-started a five-game losing streak before winning four out of five to close out the season, capped off by a 10-point road win in Atlanta in week 18.

Here’s Coach Allen on Jameis Winston, Michael Thomas, and Alvin Kamara all being on the same field together for the first time since January 17th, 2021. “In a perfect world scenario, everybody would be out there all of the time together. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world and so we’ve got to be able to adjust to that. But I like where each one of those guys is individually, and certainly there’s still some things that we’ve got to do to gel collectively as a group. But look, I like that start with all the talent, and then we’ll work to make sure it gels together.”

You can catch the first game of the year between the Saints and Falcons on WXXV Fox at noon Sunday.
