New Orleans Saints have Tom Brady’s number
The last time the New Orleans Saints played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they dominated their NFC South rival 9-0, ending Tom Brady’s streak of not being shutout at 225 games, second-all time to Drew Brees at 304.
That’s pretty much been the story of the Saints and Bucs ever since Brady got to Tampa, having gone 0-4 against the Saints, the longest regular season losing streak to any team during his 23-year career.
The Saints even overcame the loss of Jameis Winston during their week eight match up last year, now fully recovered from a torn ACL that he suffered against his former team. Saints Linebacker Demario Davis said, “If I’m still playing at 45, y’all better come check on me. You need a lot. You need your D-line to have a good day. You need your DB’s to have a good day. You need your backers to have a good day, and you need a little luck. He’s the best to have been doing it for a long time for a reason.”
Winston said, “I know he’s one of the best quarterbacks to play the game, and I admire him. I’ve studied his game a lot. I’ve got a lot of respect for a lot of those players, some of my old teammates. But at the end of the day, it’s a division game. You’re going against the best in Tom Brady. But I don’t get to go against him. I get to go against Devin White and Lavonte David and Antoine Whitfield and Vita Vea and Shaq Barrett, so I’ve got to prepare for those guys.”
The Saints and Bucs kick things off from the Big Easy at noon Sunday.
