New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame Experience welcomes standout alumni and fans to IP
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV) — The New Orleans Saints brought the Big Easy to Biloxi with the Saints Hall of Fame Experience at the IP Casino Resort Spa in Biloxi.
Hundreds of eventgoers had the opportunity to meet roughly two dozen Saints alumni. There were also chances to check out memorabilia at a silent auction, enjoy food and drinks courtesy of IP’s restaurants and even take pictures with the Lombardi Trophy from Super Bowl XLIV!
Among those in attendance were newly-announced 2025 Saints Hall of Fame inductees Tracy Porter and Brett Maxie, who shared what is was like receiving the call that they would officially go down in Black and Gold history.
“Once it was announced, I mean, I’m fortunate [for] the fans that said, ‘It should’ve happened a long time ago,'” Porter said. “But, you know, much like me playing the position I played, it takes patience, so I just continued to stay patient. I continued to stay true. I’m still a true, die-hard Saints fan to this day, and, you know, I just waited my turn. Once I got that call, it was completely off guard when Ken gave me the call, but I was very appreciative and I’m very excited.”
“Well I’ll tell you what, when I got the word that I was elected to be in the Hall of Fame, it was a surreal moment,” Maxie explained. “Yesterday when the announcement came out, I had no idea what that day was going to bring from an emotional standpoint, but once I got up there and started talking, my true thoughts and feelings really started just coming out. I started thinking about my family, cause I love talking about my family: my wife of 34 years, my four children, my two boys — who were actually with me. My wife and I actually started our family in Metairie, Louisiana, back in 1992. We actually got married in ’91, we had our first son in ’92 and our second son in’93. Just looking over there at them sitting there just brought back so many memories, and it was a surreal moment. I was so, so, so happy.”
There are two more events happening Friday, June 20th. The Saints Hall of Fame Gulf Coast Scramble begins at 9:00 a.m. at the Oaks Golf Course in Pass Christian. The Black and Gold will then hit the diamond at Keesler Federal Park as part of Saints Hall of Fame Night with the Biloxi Shuckers.
