New Orleans Saints, former LSU safety Tyrann Mathieu announces retirement
NEW ORLEANS, La. (WXXV)-New Orleans Saints safety Tyrann Mathieu announced his retirement from professional football.
The Saints announced Mathieu’s retirement on their social media accounts
Mathieu is a New Orleans native. He was originally drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Louisiana State University.
In his 12-year career, Mathieu played in 180 regular season games with 171 starts. He played for the Cardinals, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, and New Orleans Saints.
Mathieu spent three years with the Saints.
