New Orleans mother arrested for allegedly stabbing her two toddlers

A New Orleans mother is behind bars after allegedly stabbing two of her children over the weekend.

Police say it happened shortly after 11 Sunday morning in a New Orleans neighborhood.

A two-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl were stabbed and taken to the hospital where the 4-year-old girl died and the two-year-old boy is in critical condition.

Their mother, 31-year-old Janae Pedescleaux, is charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder as well as second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.

According to court records, the mother and the children’s father were in a legal battle over custody.
