New order lifts most COVID-19 restrictions in Mississippi
Governor Tate Reeves has issued a new executive order taking effect this evening that lifts almost all of the state’s COVID-19 restrictions including limits on capacity for indoor and outdoor venues.
The only COVID-19 restrictions now remaining in Mississippi are mask mandates in schools until the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
Per the order, residents and businesses are still encouraged to follow MSDH and CDC safety guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Local and county governments still retain the authority to establish rules regarding capacity limitations and mask mandates as long as they do not restrict essential business operations from taking place.
