New movie to be filmed in Ocean Springs
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- There was a special Ocean Springs Board of Alderman meeting earlier Friday morning for a new movie that is being filmed in the city starting next week.
As a result, there will be a temporary street closure on Washington Avenue between Government Street and Porter Avenue from 8 to noon for the unnamed movie production on Tuesday, April 8th.
Ward 6 Alderman Mike Impey said, “We had a special call meeting this morning to approve closing the street, Washington Avenue, this coming Tuesday from 8 to 12. An unnamed production will be in town filming a short segment, they will also be in D’Iberville and Gulfport. We’ve had some interest from several production companies recently. We had to approve the closure of the street so they could have their equipment ready to go in time, Monday wouldn’t have been soon enough for them. So, we’re excited to have Ocean Springs featured and hopefully a big production. We can’t put anything out but we hope it showcases what we find special about our city. As a special call, it was very limited, that was the only thing discussed this morning but I do understand that there are two or three more productions looking in Ocean Springs. We know Ocean Springs is a special city and some of the folks out in Hollywood have discovered it as well I think.”
