New location donated to Loaves and Fishes in Biloxi

Loaves and Fishes finally has a new home, but it’s going to take some time and money to get it up and running.

The nonprofit has been working out of Back Bay Mission’s parking lot for the past year as a temporary solution while they searched for a forever home. Thanks to a generous donor, they have found a new home on Judge Sekul Avenue.

The building is about 9,000 square feet and needs about $500,000 worth of remodeling. Loaves and Fishes will occupy half of the building with a kitchen and seating area to serve. They’ll figure out what to do with the other half later. Loaves and Fishes Executive Director Nina LaGrone said, “We are really excited about our new building. It’s going to be a permanent home, something that we actually own that we plan to be at for a very long time. We are raising funds to completely redo the exterior, the interior, it needs a new roof, pretty much the whole thing needs to be built out.”

Six months after the paperwork is complete, they would like to hopefully be set up and ready to serve.
