New Life Church students raise money for mission with smoked pork fundraiser
The 4th of July weekend is known for cookouts and great barbecue.
A church in Biloxi was grilling out for a good cause.
New Life Family Church is raising money for its students with a smoked Boston butt fundraiser. In a collaborative effort with the nationally ranked barbecue team — Hog Addiction — New Life Church students sold more than 100 smoked Boston butts, going for $45 a pop.
The proceeds will help church students go to a motion student conference in Birmingham, Alabama.
Youth Pastor Bryce Nettles says it’s the community support that helps the church reach its goals.
“We live in such an amazing community, where we, when there’s a need the people — there’s so many great people who give of their time, give of their efforts, their money, to help out our students. You know this generation, we have people who want to pour into this generation.”
