New House Bill passed

Volunteers with the Mississippi Out of the Darkness Walk did not want to stop with just a walk and felt they needed to do more to raise awareness.
Senator Brice Wiggins told News 25 that over a year ago he and OOTD volunteers began working on legislation to provide and require training in the schools for all new hires on how to identify and deal with suicide. “A great thing and that pebble that started a year ago resulted in your Mississippi legislature passing that law and when your Mississippi legislature does something like that, it raises the awareness.”
The new house bill went into effect this school year all across Mississippi.
