New hotel coming to the City of Biloxi

The City of Biloxi announced plans to build a new hotel at the State of the City address.

The Tullis Gardens Hotel is named after the original 19th century Tullis-Toledano Manor, which was washed away during Hurricane Katrina.

The hotel will be 11 stories high, include a restaurant deck, and gardens.

The building will incorporate a lot of architecture Biloxi had before Katrina, including a replica of the Tullis Manor.

The developer is not from Mississippi, but has been working with residents on the design. They are currently leasing the land between the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum and Highway 90 where the hotel will sit. City of Biloxi Public Affairs Manager Cecilia Dobbs Walton said, “They have already developed the property. They’ve got the renderings and everything set. So, the next step is just to move forward. Come to the city, start pulling the permits, and start building. We haven’t got there yet, but again, it’s just in the beginning stages.”

There is currently no start date for construction of Tullis Gardens.
