New exercise equipment installed along Front Beach in Ocean Springs
The City of Ocean Springs is encouraging everyone to get up and active by installing new workout equipment along Front Beach.
While enjoying a nice day on the beach, people can enjoy working out on the multi-bars, sit-up bench, pull-up and dip station, parallel bars, leg press, back extension, and a combo press and pull.
The $20,000 project has two portions, one located across from Fort Maurepas Park. Parks and Recreation Director Stephen Glorioso said, “There are a lot of walkers on the beach, people looking for a little extra to do. The City of Ocean Springs prides itself on getting healthy and getting fit in a relaxed setting, you know, outside of a normal gym. This kind of fit the profile. Having a beautiful beach for people to work out on as well as you can come down here with your kids or if you just wanna work out by yourself. It’s just a way to get healthy and get active.”
The project was made possible by Mayor Kenny Holloway, Parks and Recreation, and the Public Works Department.
