NEW DETAILS: Sonya Williams Barnes meets with AG’s office investigators

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)-Gulfport Mayoral Candidate Sonya Williams Barnes has released a statement in regards to allegations of vote buying.

In a press release, Williams Barnes says in part: “Today at 3:00 PM, my attorney and I met with two investigators from the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office regarding an anonymous allegation that my campaign has been involved in vote buying.”

“Let me be clear: I have not engaged in any form of voter fraud. I fully cooperated with the investigators and answered every question asked of me. These accusations are false, and I stand firmly on the truth.”
