New Details in Alabama Slayings

Derrick Dearman, the man accused of slaying five people in a Citronelle home in August, will be held without bond as the case goes to a grand jury.
Authorities have presented new details of the gun and ax slayings of five people in rural South Alabama at a hearing yesterday.
Five of the capital murder charges represent the five adults killed by firearm or axe at the secluded house during what police said was an attempted abduction. One represents the death of the unborn baby carried by one of the adult female victims.
A judge ruled after listening to the evidence that grand jurors can consider charges against the 28-year-old Leakesville, Mississippi man.
