New dates for back to school sales tax holiday

The back-to-school sales tax holiday in Mississippi has been moved and extended.

Senate Bill 2470, which was signed by Gov. Tate Reeves in April, moves the back-to-school sales tax holiday to the second Friday of July and extends the holiday by a day.

This year, the sales tax holiday will take place on July 12th through the 14th.

The only change to the holiday was the date. Clothes and shoes and school supplies less than $100 are exempt from sales taxes during those three days.
