New community center on Lee Street in Biloxi

Early renderings have been released of the East Biloxi Community Center.

The community center will be on Lee Street next to the old Yankie Stadium. This area has been growing and Biloxi is happy to add this $3 million project.

The funding is likely to come from various areas. The center will include a gym, meeting rooms, and restroom.

There is not a set construction date or opening date. Public Affairs Manager Cecilia Dobbs-Walton said, “Before Hurricane Katrina, there was an East Biloxi Community Center that was used by Parks and Rec, that was used by numerous groups. So, this will be something that the city is looking forward to having back in East Biloxi. Of course, the residents and visitors will be able to enjoy in East Biloxi.”
