New commercial, residential, and amusement plans for the City of Biloxi

Biloxi is a hot spot for new construction.

Commercial, resident, and amusement projects are underway in the downtown area. About $55 million has been allocated to active commercial projects throughout the city.

Developers are working on new single-family homes in walking distance to MGM Park and renovating the Wells Fargo building to become vacation rentals. City of Biloxi Director of Community Development Jerry Creel said, “We’ve actually lost a couple of businesses over the years because they didn’t feel like there was a large enough residential element here. Now that we’re starting to get some of these apartments and town homes and single-family houses downtown, I think that would help that fear that those people have about not enough people being here.”

Much of the new development in Biloxi is near the Ground Zero Blues Club on Howard Avenue and the historic Saenger Theatre being restore.
