New Coast-themed app launched

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)- A South Mississippi-centric mobile app has officially launched with the goal of helping people discover more of our region’s natural beauty.

‘Let’s Go! Explore Gulf Coast’ is an app that maps out public spaces with easy-to-use search filters, allowing locals and visitors to learn more about the outdoor recreational opportunities our Coast has to offer.

This includes sites like green spaces, athletic fields, beaches, dog parks, and so much more. Here’s what the app’s developers had to say at Tuesday’s big launch event. Dr. Kesley Keel said, “We’re so excited to be launching our ‘Let’s Go! Explore Gulf Coast’ app. We’ve catalogued over 200 parks in Harrison, Hancock and Jackson Counties. You can scroll through them, search for specific park features such as playgrounds, splash pads, dog parks, kayak launches, fishing piers, any outdoor feature you can think of. Summer is coming so families can use this to get out.”
